According to a March 5, 2007 article from The Associated Press, public colleges across the country are revamping their admission policies in order to allow more homeschooled students to enroll. More than one million U.S. students are homeschooled, accounting for approximately 2% of all students. Between 2000 and 2004, the percentage of colleges with admission policies specific to homeschoolers increased from 52% to 83%. Consequently, many homeschooled students are now finding the process of applying for admission at a public college easier than it had been in previous years.
