According to a March 2, 2007 press release from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), Illinois celebrates National School Breakfast Week beginning March 5th. This year's theme - A World of Breakfasts - highlights the importance of starting each day with a nutritious meal. The School Nutrition Association first launched National School Breakfast Week in 1989, in an effort to raise awareness regarding the link between students eating a healthy breakfast and performing well in school.
The press release, which includes a link to all Illinois schools and child care institutions participating in the federal School Breakfast Program, is available at the ISBE Web site.
