School Bus Drivers Encouraged to Avoid Use of Cell Phones
2/13/2007

According to a February 12, 2007 article from The Associated Press, it is anticipated that the American School Bus Council will soon issue guidelines that call for a ban on cell phone use by bus drivers. In an effort to safeguard the approximately 25 million U.S. students who ride a bus each day, the proposed cell phone ban would apply whenever a bus is moving, and when students are boarding or exiting a bus. The ban would actually be enacted by bus companies and school districts.

The article is available at the Belleville News-Democrat (Belleville, Illinois).
