Families Encouraged to Submit Financial Aid Applications
1/9/2007

An article from the January 2007 edition of Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine provides tips for families who will be seeking college financial assistance for the 2007-08 academic year. Families that do not believe they will qualify for need-based assistance are still encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is used as the starting point for many merit-based awards. Among the suggestions provided in the article are to apply early, pay careful attention to whose information (student or parent) should be provided for each question, respond to items accurately, and save time by submitting the application online.

The article is available at the Kiplinger.com Web site.
