Students Need to Learn Skills to Compete in a Global Economy
12/12/2006

A December 10, 2006 article at CNN.com provides a summary of the recent cover story from Time magazine, "How to Build a Student for the 21st Century." According to the article, U.S. students may not be learning the skills needed to compete in a global economy. Some experts believe that both "what" and "how" we teach needs to be updated for modern times. The necessary "21st century skills" mentioned include knowing more about the world, thinking outside the box, successfully filtering through new sources of information, and having the ability to interact with others.
