A November 28, 2006 article from USA Today reports that the U.S. intelligence community is increasingly drawing upon higher education to develop a future recruitment pool. More than $16 million has been invested in educational courses and overseas fellowships since 2004, with the goal of getting students interested in the intelligence field. In an effort to make the intelligence workforce more diverse, minorities and women are being targeted for recruitment.
