According to the College Board, the cost of college tuition rose only 6.3% this year, the smallest increase in three years. But, if you look at the last five years, the cost of college actually rose 35%, at a time when available financial aid, such as the federal Pell grant, is shrinking.
In an article that appears at usatoday.com, suggested strategies for coping with tuition inflation include saving for college, prepaid tuition plans, considering lower-cost colleges and taking advantage of university partnerships with community colleges.
