According to an October 26, 2006 article from The Associated Press, a recent report from the U.S. Census Bureau indicates that individuals with a bachelor's degree annually earn an average of $23,000 more than those with high school diplomas. Average salaries for adults, based on education level, are: $19,169 for high school dropouts; $28,645 for high school graduates; $51,554 for college graduates; and $78,093 for those with advanced college degrees. The report is based on 2004 data, which is the most recent available.
