Technology Being Used to Keep Students Safe at School
10/13/2006

An October 10, 2006 article from USA Today reports that, across the nation, more schools are turning to high-tech security options. From monitoring (via electronic ID cards) students boarding and exiting a bus, to running on-the-spot checks of visitors to make sure they do not appear on the national database of known sex offenders - school administrators are trying to use every resource they can to ensure the safety and well-being of their students. Administrators must guard against both violence among students and the potential threat from adults who may visit with the intent to do harm.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
