An October 10, 2006 article from The Associated Press announces that President Bush, Mrs. Laura Bush, U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings and U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales are taking part in an October 10th Conference on School Safety in Maryland. The conference takes place in the wake of recent school shootings in Colorado, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. The conference is scheduled to include panel discussions on preventing violence and coping with tragedy.
