President Indicates 'No Child Left Behind' Renewal Is Priority for Next Year
10/6/2006

According to an October 5, 2006 article from The Associated Press, President Bush has indicated that one of his priorities for the upcoming year is to renew the No Child Left Behind law. Speaking at an elementary school in Washington, President Bush stated he plans to work with Congress to clarify the law so that more parents are made aware of options available to student who attend under-performing schools (for example, receiving tutoring or transferring to another school). President Bush named expanding testing into high schools as a possible future improvement for the law.

The article is available at the CNN.com Web site.
