According to an August 3, 2006 article from CNN/Money, colleges across the nation are looking into ways to make their residence halls more modern. While many of the renovations being considered will likely attract more students, future cost savings are also a factor. For example, college that utilize "green technology" can significantly reduce their energy costs.
