According to an August 2, 2006 article from The Associated Press, many colleges across the country are advising their incoming freshmen to use caution with Internet postings. Orientation sessions have been revised to incorporate sessions regarding online behavior. College administrators are reminding students that, once information is posted online, it becomes available to the public. When students place photos or information regarding inappropriate or illegal activity in cyberspace, they run not only the risk of being disciplined by college administrators but, also, of hindering their job prospects if potential employers become aware of those postings in the future.
