Families Find Student Vaccination Process More Complex
8/2/2006

A July 31, 2006 article from The Associated Press discusses how the student vaccination process has grown increasingly complex, and expensive, over the years. In the past two decades, the number of vaccines available to children and adolescents has increased from four to 12. The corresponding private-sector costs have gone from less than $100 to approximately $1,250. In addition, recent outbreaks of some diseases - such as the nearly 4,900 people in the Midwest who caught the mumps earlier this year - may mean that even more booster shots are needed.
