More Than Half of College Students Have Credit Cards
7/18/2006

A July 17, 2006 article from The Associated Press reports that over half of all college students have their own credit cards. Approximately one-fourth of those students with credit cards have used them to pay for college tuition. Experts are concerned that these students are using credit cards rather than lower interest options, such as installment payment plans or student loans. Data shows that students who use credit cards to pay for tuition are more likely to carry a balance than are their peers who pay tuition using other resources.

The article is available at the CNN.com Web site.
