How Some High Schools Help to Prepare Students for College
5/1/2006

The May 8, 2006 edition of Newsweek lists the magazine's picks for the top 1,000 U.S. schools that help students prepare for college. An accompanying article provides sample factors that set some high schools apart, including helping students to become good citizens, offering a strong liberal arts foundation, preparing students to join the work force, addressing the specific educational needs of male and female students, emphasizing science and technology, and making sure all students feel they belong to the school community.

The article is available at the Newsweek Education section of the MSNBC.com Web site.
