October SAT Scoring Errors Result in Class Action Suit
4/10/2006

According to an April 10, 2006 article from Inside Higher Ed, a legal team in Minnesota has announced it will file a class action suit on behalf of students impacted by the scoring errors that took place with last October's SAT exam. The suit is being filed against the College Board and Pearson Educational Measurement. The lead lawyer for the suit has indicated that there are no plans to sue colleges, as the scoring errors also placed colleges in a difficult position. In order to maintain the individual's privacy, identifying details are not being released regarding the lead plaintiff in the suit, a male from New York who took the SAT in October and experienced consequences due to receiving an incorrect score.

The article is available at the Inside Higher Ed Web site.
