College Board Announces Additional SAT Scoring Errors
3/23/2006

According to a March 22, 2006 article from USA Today, the College Board announced on March 21st that 375 more students should receive higher SAT scores than were originally reported. Earlier this month, thousands of SAT test scores had to be adjusted after it was discovered that humidity had caused some sheets to be scanned incorrectly. To date, over 4,400 students have been notified that their original test results were inaccurate, and the higher scores for those students are being re-reported to colleges. The College Board has indicated new procedures, including scanning each test sheet twice and enhancing software to detect when humidity levels might impact the scoring process, should prevent similar issues in the future.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
