Relaxation Techniques May Improve Student Test Performance

A March 7, 2006 article reports that, with increased value being placed on standardized test results, schools across the country are seeking ways to improve student performance. One approach being taken at some schools is to teach students relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing and movement exercises. The techniques are believed to reduce test anxiety which, in turn, allows the student to better concentrate on the task at hand.
