Poll Shows Parents and Teachers Don't Always Agree on Aspects of Education
2/9/2006

A February 8, 2006 article from the Associated Press highlights the results of a recent AP-AOL Learning Services Poll. The poll, for which participants included over 1,000 parents and more than 800 teachers, found that parents and teachers often see things differently when it comes to education. Teachers interact with students in the school environment, where there is typically more social influence and pressure than parents witness at home. Consequently, teachers tend to view school discipline problems as a more serious issue than do parents. Both groups agree that the recruitment and retention of quality teachers should be a high priority.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
