An article on usatoday.com discusses the growing trend of placing advertisements on school buses, similar to those that have been staples on city buses for years. Used as a means of bringing money into schools districts to aid in plugging budget holes, the ads are beginning to appear on school buses in various parts of the country. While groups critical to the practice say that they're "opposed to using children for commercial purposes", supporters assert that "students cannot be shielded from advertising, so why not display carefully screened ads that will benefit the district?"
