A September 29, 2005 article from The Washington Post reports that several colleges are now offering degrees in video game design and interactive media. Because it is such a new academic field, data is not yet available to determine whether earning such a degree will increase graduates' chances of getting the jobs they want. Industry insiders are undecided regarding whether such a degree will eventually be a more marketable commodity than "real-world" experience in the field.
