A September 26, 2005 article from Inside Higher Ed reports that, while some colleges in Texas and Louisiana sustained damage from Hurricane Rita, administrators at most impacted schools were making plans to re-open soon. Reports include flooding, loss of power and, in Mississippi, damage sustained from a tornado spawned by Hurricane Rita. Based on information available as of September 26th, the article indicates projected dates for some colleges to re-open.
