How Teachers Prepare Students for Required Testing
9/12/2005

A September 12, 2005 article from The State Journal-Register (Springfield, Illinois) follows the progress of a Springfield third-grade teacher and her students as they prepared for this year's Illinois State Achievement Tests, which took place in March. At the third-grade level, the tests focus on reading and math. Highlighting both challenges encountered and progress made, the article spotlights the many techniques teachers use to help students get ready for the required exams. In addition to academic preparations, teachers also take steps to help students relax so that test-day nerves do not negatively impact their performance.

The article is available at The State Journal-Register Online.
