Annual Yearly Progress Reports Available for Illinois Schools
8/4/2005

An August 1, 2005 press release announces that the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has provided Illinois schools and districts with Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) School Status Reports, based on spring 2005 testing results, earlier than in any previous year. Annual AYP reports indicate whether student performance is improving based on annual targets. In Illinois, the three factors considered are the percentage of math and reading scores that meet or exceed standards, the participation rate of students taking the tests, and attendance rates (for elementary and middle schools) or graduation rates (for high schools).

The press release is available at the ISBE Web site.
