Parents Encouraged to Plan Early for Future College Costs
7/22/2005

A July 18, 2005 article from the Northwest Herald (Crystal Lake, Illinois) spotlights parents who are using the College Illinois! prepaid tuition program to prepare for their toddler's future college expenses. The article includes comments from financial planning experts who encourage families to start planning and saving for college as early as possible. The article also highlights section 529 college savings plans (such as Bright Start®) and the UPromise program (which offers rebates for certain types of regular purchases).

The article is available at the Northwest Herald Web site.

Attention parents - College Illinois! enrollment for newborns (less than one year old) runs through August 1, 2005.

The next general enrollment period for the College Illinois! program begins October 31, 2005.

College Illinois! is a section 529 prepaid tuition program that allows families to pay for tuition and fees now, protecting them against future tuition inflation. More information, including the online application, is available at the College Illinois! Web site.
