College Zone, powered by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, is pleased to share the following announcement from the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs and the Office of Governor Blagojevich concerning important information for veterans.

A Supermarket of Veterans' Benefits fair is being held at Navy Pier in Chicago on Saturday, July 9, 2005, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Veterans from across the state are being invited to learn about state programs specifically designed for them, learn about job opportunities and get free health screenings, among other services. Details about the fair and veterans' benefits are provided in a May 31, 2005 press release posted at the State of Illinois Web site, and through the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs at 800.437.9824.

Veterans will also be able to visit the College Zone booth at the fair to learn about financial aid programs that are available for veterans and members of the Illinois National Guard to pay for college. Information about educational benefits is also provided at the Student Zone's Military Service section at collegezone.com.
