Use of Internet in Nursery Schools
6/6/2005

An Associate Press article dated June 4, 2005 reports that nearly 25% of nursery school children are learning to use the Internet. By the time they reach kindergarten, the number of students who have been online increases to almost 33%. Many young children are learning letters, numbers, and rhymes via online animated lessons and interactive stories. Educators view the Internet as one of many resources that are part of a comprehensive approach to teaching. When the Internet is used in the classroom, teachers need to monitor the content and age-appropriateness of what is being accessed.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
