An Associated Press article dated April 1, 2005 reports that students are increasingly considering the amenities available on campus when deciding which college to attend. Many colleges use their recreation centers, or plans for future recreation centers, as selling points when courting prospective students. In addition to the health benefits, students also view campus recreation centers as a social outlet. Professors who utilize the recreation centers are able to interact with students outside the classroom.
