An Associated Press article dated March 23, 2005 summarizes results of an annual review regarding the No Child Left Behind education law. Conducted by the independent Center on Education Policy, the review identified both achievements and remaining challenges related to the 2002 law. While schools across the nation have stepped up their efforts to assist struggling students, some states and school districts have expressed concerns regarding how to obtain the resources required to make necessary improvements. One goal of the law is to ensure that, by the year 2014, all minority and low-income children can perform at grade level in both reading and math.
