A March 14, 2005 article from The Daily American (West Frankfort, Illinois) reports that high school students participating in a Youth and Government program recently had the opportunity to act as senators in order to learn how government works in the State of Illinois. The students were given the assignment of presenting several bills and trying to get them passed into law. Participants indicated that they found the experience to be both fun and educational.
