Use of Technology in U.S. Classrooms
1/10/2005

An Associated Press article dated January 7, 2005, discusses the fact that the field of education is one of the last to fully utilize available technology. While nearly all U.S. schools have access to the Internet, and nationally there is an average of one computer for every five students, some educators are not trained to use these resources to their greatest potential. The article is based on the National Education Technology Plan, released on January 7th, which calls on schools and districts across the country to embrace technology in their curriculum.

The article is available at the CNN.com Web site. A related press release from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) is available at the ED Web site.
