An August 19, 2009 press release from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) announces that the Illinois class of 2009 has maintained or made gains in all subject areas tested on the ACT from 2008 to 2009. Composite scores in Illinois are the highest among the seven states nationwide in which at least 90% of students take the ACT. This is the third year in a row in which the composite score for Illinois students has increased.

The press release is available at the ISBE Web site.
