Illinois to Receive Technical Assistance in Developing 'Green-Focused' Programs of Study

A June 22, 2009 press release from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) announces that Illinois is one of five states to receive assistance from the National Research Center for Career and Technical Education (NRCCTE) to develop "green-focused" programs of study in career and technical education. The main emphasis for the programs of study in Illinois will be energy, utilities and waste management. The overall aim of the program is to prepare students for future work in a high-skill, clean energy economy.
