An April 29, 2009 press release from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) provides a statement from Education Secretary Arne Duncan regarding the recent flu outbreak and its impact on U.S. schools. Secretary Duncan encourages all school leaders, teachers, parents and students to take all necessary measures to prevent the spread of the flu virus (including washing your hands, covering your mouth when you cough, and staying home if you are sick).
