Students at Public Universities Across the Country May be Facing Tuition Increases
4/24/2009

According to an April 21, 2009 USA Today article, many public universities across the country may find it necessary to raise tuition 5% or more for the upcoming academic year. Although the majority of public universities have not yet had their 2009-10 academic year budgets set, it appears tuition increases may be needed in order to continue providing a quality education amidst anticipated cuts in state budgets. Experts are hopeful that the
$39 billion being provided via the federal stimulus package to address state budget education issues will help minimize tuition increases.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
