Study Indicates Correlation between College Students' Grades and Use of Social Networking Site
4/14/2009

According to an April 13, 2009 USA Today article, a recent study conducted at The Ohio State University indicates there may be a connection between college students' use of Facebook (a social networking site) and their academic performance. Of the 219 students surveyed, Facebook users reported grade point averages ranging from 3.0 to 3.5; students who do not use Facebook had grade point averages between 3.5 and 4.0. Also, those who use Facebook reported spending approximately half as much time studying as their non-Facebook peers.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
