Current Economy May Help Some Students Gain Admission to Private Colleges
4/1/2009

According to an April 1, 2009 article from The Washington Post, college-bound students may find that the current economy actually helps their chances of being admitted to a private college. Allowing for the possibility that many individuals may choose to attend less expensive public institutions, some private colleges are offering admission to a larger number of prospective students. College admission officials seek to find the optimum number of admission offers to extend, trying to ensure they have the right number of incoming students to fill - but not overfill - their classes.

The article is available at the Web site of The Washington Post.
