More People Changing Careers to Become Teachers
3/17/2009

A March 17, 2009 article from The Associated Press reports that an increasing number of people are leaving their chosen professions and retraining to become teachers. As the economy impacts employment prospects in certain industries, some individuals are opting to transition to a career in teaching. Students benefit from the skills and knowledge that these new teachers bring from the years they worked in their former professions. Programs such as the New Teacher Project and Teach for America are available to assist people as they make the transition from the business world to an education environment.

The article is available at the MSNBC Web site.
