A December 7, 2008 ABC News article reports that, out of 29 developed nations, the U.S. currently ranks 15th in terms of college students who complete their degrees. According to the "Measuring Up 2008" report from the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education, U.S. colleges grant 18 degrees for every 100 college students enrolled.
