A recent USA Today article reports that, due in large part to the nation's current economic situation, high school and college students are demonstrating a significantly stronger interest in studying economics. Rather than just reading or hearing lectures about how certain economic concepts work, students can now follow real-life examples on the news. Some college students have become so intrigued with the economy that they have decided to postpone their graduation in order to switch their major to economics, while others who had considered working in the financial markets are now having second thoughts.
