Illinois Joins American Diploma Project to Prepare Students for College and the Workforce
10/16/2008

An October 12, 2008 press release announces that Illinois has joined the American Diploma Project (ADP), and will use national benchmarks and information from other countries to determine what students should be learning in order to prepare for college and/or the workforce. Knowledge gained from ADP participation is being used to revise the Illinois Learning Standards, which were originally developed in 1997. An overall goal is to make the Illinois Learning Standards more clear and concise.

The press release is available at the ISBE Web site.
