National 'Farm to School' Network Promotes Healthy Food for Students
10/8/2008

According to an October 7, 2008 USA Today article, many school districts across the country participate in the national Farm to School network, which promotes serving healthy, local foods in school cafeterias. Due to higher costs, most of the approximately 2,000 participating school districts offer selective products from the program, rather than full meals. The article highlights private schools in Kansas City, Missouri that are committed to promoting good health by offering their students organic, natural, locally-grown food.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
