According to a July 21, 2008 article from U.S. News & World Report, college students may soon be paying less for textbooks and other course materials. Several factors - including proposed law changes, the growing availability of electronic books, an increased use of open source resources by professors, and rental textbook options - are contributing to lower costs for students. College textbook prices had nearly tripled over the past two decades.
