A new State Legislative Update has been posted for your reference at collegezone.com. This Update, dated May 14, 2008, contains the most recent status of bills which pertain to ISAC-administered programs and education in general.
Highlights of activity that has occurred since our last Update include the release by the governor's office of funds appropriated to the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) for reimbursement to community colleges for the FY08 Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) shortfall, and the possible recision of appropriated FY08 funds to higher education.
Additionally, Committee meetings are taking place this week on four ISAC-related bills - see HB4567, HB5905, SB1908 and SB1923 for details. As always, we caution you that all bills included in the Update are not yet final and there is still a great deal of negotiation to occur that could impact the final outcome.
