Because some of the gift aid that is available to undergraduate students is not awarded to graduate students (for example, the Federal Pell Grant), those pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree may need to do some additional research to identify available funding. The article suggests utilizing tuition benefits provided by some employers, fitting part-time employment into the student's weekly schedule, and borrowing federal education loans from lenders that offer the best terms. Also discussed is the fact that, on average, individuals who have a graduate or professional degree earn significantly more than those who do not.
