A March 10, 2008 article from The Washington Post reports that higher education experts are anticipating an overall decrease in college applicants in upcoming years, due mainly to the fact that there will be fewer high school graduates. Of the available pool of high school graduates, a greater number will represent minority groups that, traditionally, have been less likely to attend college. These anticipated demographic shifts are prompting college officials to review their current methods of recruiting and educating students.
