Keeping College Debt to a Minimum
2/19/2008

A February 18, 2008 USA Today article provides suggestions for college students seeking to minimize the level of debt they will have when they graduate. Before considering private loans, those who need to borrow to help pay for college should first take full advantage of the federal student loan program. Those who do choose to take out private loans are encouraged to carefully weigh their options, and be sure they understand all terms and conditions prior to making their final decision. In order to avoid graduating with a high level of debt, some students may decide to attend colleges that cost less and/or limit the use of loans in financial aid packages.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
