Free College Prep Testing Program Available for Illinois High School Students
1/16/2008

According to a January 15, 2008 press release, Governor Blagojevich has announced a new voluntary testing program for high school freshmen and sophomores in Illinois. Launched by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), the program is aimed to improve high school student achievement by allowing interested public school districts to utilize - at no charge - two ACT pre-tests: EXPLORE (for eighth and ninth grades) and PLAN (for tenth grade). Each spring, all Illinois high school juniors take the ACT test as part of the Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE).

The press release is available at the ISBE Web site.
