According to a January 7, 2008 USA Today article, college professors across the country are starting to draw upon technology to offer "virtual" office hours. Students can communicate with the professors online, via text or microphone. Tapping into the fact that most college students are comfortable with the Internet, these educators give students the option of seeking assistance from wherever they happen to be studying, rather than having to make a special trip across campus to catch the professor during posted office hours.
The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
